Storytel

App Design
Project Overview
Storytel is one of the world's largest subscription services for streaming audiobooks and e-books, offering over 700,000 titles globally. It operates in over 20 markets around the world and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

Storytel's main goal was to increase user engagement and thus increase the amount of time users spend in the app. One of the challenges was to create a faster conversion of new users and engage them early on in the journey so that they don't lose interest as quickly.

They also wanted to motivate users to finish listening to their books and encourage them to search for new ones.
My Contributions
Based on insights gathered from research, me and the team created design principles and guidelines to guide Storytel's gamification design as well as a full design concept with clarifying visualisations based on user needs, stakeholder requirements and scientifically found best practises. The design was then iterated on until everyone was satisfied.

I was mainly in charge of the UX and UI Design of the application ensuring brand coherency, ease of use and creating an engaging and joyful user experience aligned with the clients business requirements.
